The former bathhouse
The former bathhouse is on the corner of Maanstraat and Meteorenweg. Because the houses used to have no shower, the inhabitants of the village had to go to the bathhouse. Men and women had separate entrances.
The ladies’ entrance was on the Maanstraat and the men’s entrance on the Meteorenweg. One could buy a ticket for the “shower bath” this is a kind of shower, tub bath. CHILDREN went to the bathhouse with their class every week. For a dime you could shower for fifteen minutes.
